Bury Tango

Distinct from show Tango which  we see on TV which looks clever but difficult, ours is a social dance which is built around improvisation and not set routines. Basically, if you can walk, you can start to Tango.

"It takes two to Tango" - the connection betwen two dancers is central and this provides the subtlety and dialogue which makes the dance so appealing. It is a great way of conditioning your body and keeping fit, but, be careful, as Tango can change your life!

Tango Practica

At the tango practica we learn to
dance through practising with others
or observing their techniques. This is not formal dancing but an
environment in which we can
approach others in order to learn
from what they can do. Tango is an improvised dance and so we
endeavour to interpret the music
by listening to it in an inspired way.

For dancers who want formal lessons, we have some plans to offer these in the future, but, for the moment, we
can indicate where you can get such training locally.

Tango classes in the Autumn - for anyone who wants to get some dance instruction in Tango, whether for a beginner or for someone who has been dancing a while, there will be courses starting in September in mid Suffolk in Henley, north of Ipswich. For details, go to SuffolkTango. We realise that these may not be too local, but you do have to travel to learn Tango.
