Welcome to BURY TANGO in Bury Saint Edmunds
Bury Tango is a friendly Tango club which has built up its reputation over ten years. Although centred in Bury St Edmunds, at The Hunter Club, we attract dancers from the whole of East Anglia and beyond.
WHAT'S THE NEWS?
For Beginners and Absolute Novices
We are starting a brand new course for beginners on Tuesday 15th September. If you want to try out this dance, we have two taster sessions, one on the 8th September at the Hunter Club (7.30) and one on the 12th September at the Apex (1.30) and in the lounge upstairs. Each will last about one hour, is free and you do not need to come with a partner. How easy is that! Our Schedule at Bury Tango and what we offer
EVERY MONDAY, at the Hunter Club we have a Tango Class at Intermediate level at 7.30 followed by practica ending at 10.30
Often we have visiting guest teachers and occasionally Monday evening is given over to organised practice.
Doors open 7.00 pm Class/workshop 7.30 dancing/practice 8.30 (or 9.00) 10.30 close
Class fee: £9 class with guest teacher £15 practice only £5
EVERY TUESDAY, at the Hunter Club we have Classes for Beginners and Improvers each lasting just under one hour followed by practice and dancing. Classes are taught by our regular team with occasional guests
Doors open 6.45 pm Beginner class 7.15 dancing 8.10 to 8.30
Improver class 8.30 Dancing/practice 9.30 until 10.30
Class fee £9 for one or both classes.
Beginner eight week course £64
If we can, we try to balance our classes leader to follower so it is helpful if you attend with a partner but sometimes we have singles and we try to get a match. email us at info@burytango.co.uk or use the contact button.
TASTER CLASSES, at various venues. For those who are undecided about whether they want to learn to dance Tango, on occasions, we offer "Taster classes" so that you can come along and try out an introductory lesson. These are usually free and occur when we are encouraging a new intake of beginners. Contact us for details

PRACTICAS in various places. Some Mondays, some Thursdays and some Fridays. We realise that our dancers need to understand basic technique and everyone needs to practice to achieve this. Many dancers work on this at home but we provide regular opportunities for dancers too come together and work on fundamentals. Contact us or Facebook for details
WEEKEND WORKSHOPS, at different venues. Bury tango has guest teachers for a variety of workshops and classes at weekends, for sometimes an afternoon, a day or even both days. These are usually booked in advance to help us prepare the event.
MILONGAS and TEA DANCES at different venues. We organise around ten of these events in the year and usually at the weekend, meaning Friday or Saturday evenings for Milongas, and Saturday or Sunday afternoons for Tea Dances. Entry is usually £10 and we invite Tango DJs who are versatile in the music they play. Bury Tango has a reputation of organising music events which may be totally traditional, mainly alternative or nuevo, or a mix of the two. We respectfully request for all to consider the other
dancers and do not attend if you feel in any way unwell
or have any conditions that are easily transmissible.
The Hunter Club venue does not supply drinks during
classes and we run air conditioning so please consider bringing your own supplies and adequate clothing.
